3 carry things on your bushcraft adventure

There are a lot of gadgets that you think you may need when you start with bushcraft. But the three things that one I always take with me when I give myself out in nature, these three things can also be seen as a small survival kit.

knife
The cutting edge is one of our oldest tools. It is the knife that will allow you to start making things, whether it’s a spoon to eat with or packram to carry your equipment.

Bryne
A dull knife is like a dull mind and it is therefore important to keep both mind and razor sharp, a sharpener allows you to keep the blade sharp.

Fire Starters
Being able to make up an important knowledge as this gives us warmth, ability to cook, light when it is dark and a friend when we are alone. A fire steel is impervious to both moisture and shock and with a little practice, you always have fire.

Here are 3 examples of 3 things

Example 1
This is what Nordic Bushcraft students can bring from their basic course and consists of a simple sheath knife and a fire steel. The sharpening is something that is produced during the course, which we use wet sandpaper as a whetstone. A low priced, simple and highly effective sharpener and is perfect to learn how to whet the edge of the knife with.

Example 2
Mora knife has produced a knife where the knife sheath has a fire steel and sharpener. This has the advantage that you always have with those three things, the downside is that you lose your vagina so you lose all three things. Some of our students have made their own versions of this with the example above.

Example 3
This is my personal little kit that I always carry with me in the forest and consists of slightly more exclusive stuff but the stuff I enjoy doing. Here are the heavier knife and a combination whetstone with both diamond and ceramic side. However, the same fire steel as before.
